The objective of this role is to help define and create the future of the ‘connected customer experience’ for our airline Clients and GEE. This is the experience that a customer has from the moment they engage with the airline, at the airport, on the flight and after the flight and how this is delivered in a connected, holistic experience, utilizing the latest consumer technology and innovation. You will be on a constant learning curve from the airline and our global entertainment company, absorbing the latest trends and possibilities within this fast changing industry and utilizing your experience and knowledge of consumer technology and innovation, marrying the two together to create the ‘Connected Customer Experience’ Key responsibilities To provide high quality creative movie and TV programming (Hollywood, Independent, OTT and International) to GEE’s client base in an effective manner. Ensure content is suitable for specific client needs, is accurate, in line with financial expectations and GEE’s global strategy. More specifically, the job entails :
• Analyzing and research programming options, liaise with distributors to gather data about new movies and TV programs available for licensing to clients
• Screening programming options, creating edit notes and discussing these with colleagues and the client.
• Prepare programming charts for recommendations to clients continually enhancing the creative and quality of programming
• Develop and maintain close customer relations, negotiate and influence their content choices to maximize margins
• Obtain and analyze forecast and actual flight data from the client. Most common client you’ll interact with is Qantas.
• Monitor billing for accuracy and compliance with contracts.
• Identify strategies for deal structures and liaise with ops finance
• Occasionally negotiate competitive license fees
• Execute a quality control function on purchase orders
• Develop additional revenues out of the existing customer base with new programming and the promotion of other GEE services
• Assist in the evaluation of trends and establish goals consistent with industry growth
• Provide programming expertise to the sales support and account management functions for proposal and tender generation.
Qualifications
Ability to consistently deliver work of high quality against tight deadlines as well as attention to detail is considered an important attribute for people performing this role.
Good communication skills and in depth knowledge and passion in Movies, TV and social media are essential. Areas of interest and intrinsic competencies

POSITION INFORMATION:
Role Summary: The Senior Analyst, Inflight Entertainment & Connectivity (IFEC) helps the IFEC Team deliver memorable experiences for our guests through the analysis of key drivers of guest satisfaction and financial performance. The IFEC Team works closely with external partners and cross-divisional, internal partners (IT, Revenue Management, Marketing, Maintenance/Engineering, Finance). The Senior Analyst integrates deeply with each of these business partners to identify areas of product improvement and financial performance and offer data driven recommendations and solutions. This role requires strong analytical experience with an acumen for succinctly communicating complex business scenarios and making recommendations for improved performance. The Senior Analyst shows a commitment to bringing our in-flight entertainment and connectivity experiences to a new level, with demonstrated insights/analytics experience, an understanding of software or web development, a passion for our brand and a desire for continuous improvement.

Scope & Complexity: This individual contributor role provides Onboard Digital Experience marketing analysis for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries. This role is the focal point for annual planning and ongoing monthly reporting and also performs business analysis to support the IFEC business.

 Key Duties: Leads in the analysis and preparation of business reporting in conjunction with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A;) on the monthly IFEC Profit and Loss (P&L;) (e.g., forecasting, identifying resulting variances, conducting analyses, and formulating recommendations). Develops and implements forecasting tools and dashboards that integrate year-to-date results with forecasts and resultant margin, cost and budget impact metrics. Supports annual budgeting and planning. Manages and optimizes the current entertainment content strategy to balance cost and the guest experience, including integration with partner agencies to procure, plan, and deploy entertainment content. Assists in the development of the IFEC web portal merchandising calendar, analyze performance of merchandising strategies. Compiles data for new and maturing product/service initiatives and conducts competitive benchmarking. Performs project-specific analyses for IFEC initiatives, including new product launches, product or market tests, and historical data analyses to support recommendations. Maintains measurement processes and facilitates the implementation and consistent application of these processes Supports product optimization by proactively identifying ways to innovate the guest experience across the entire Alaska Airlines digital experience in a timely and consistent manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis or web analytics roles within aviation, e-commerce, technology, entertainment, hospitality, gaming and/or interactive content sectors. Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Marketing, Economics, Computer Science, New Media or Technical Degree (Engineering).
  • Demonstrated ability to have significant impact on products, services, or financial performance with data-driven recommendations. Ability to gather, prep and blend data, then present complex data sets in a compelling and concise (using skills in Excel, Structured Query language (SQL), Alteryx, Tableau, PowerPoint).
  • Extremely detail oriented in both delivery of work product and identifying idiosyncrasies in guest-facing experiences.
  • Experience tracking and reporting on financial performance of consumer-facing products or services.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Preferred Master of Science or Master of Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of web analytics testing programs and web design.
  • Basic understanding of InFlight Entertainment (IFE) content, including audio/video/interactive content development, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and licensing restrictions.
  • Knowledge of developing and managing to timelines and constraints found in aviation industry.
  • General knowledge of engineering hardware development and/or software development, with technical and aviation experience.
  • Direct experience supporting efforts to develop new digital products, consumer products and user interfaces.
