Yves Bergquist, Project Director, Data & Analytics
Entertainment Technology Center at USC

Yves is a data scientist and the CEO of AI engineering firm Novamente, which applies cognitive computing to large enterprise problems. He also manages the “Data & Analytics” Project at USC’s Entertainment Technology Center, where he leads the development of next-generation audience intelligence standards and solutions for the entertainment industry. Yves is a competitive strategist and complex systems expert with 15 years of experience modeling high-velocity environments and markets for public and private sector clients. Before joining Novamente, Yves managed business development at analytics firms Bottlenose and Ranker in Los Angeles. He was part of the founding team at Singularity University, a joint venture between Google and NASA, which aims to leverage Artificial Intelligence and other “exponential technologies” to help solve the world’s greatest problems. 




Tom Coughlin, President
Coughlin Associates

Tom Coughlin, President, Coughlin Associates is a widely respected digital storage analyst as well as business and technology consultant.  He has over 35 years in the data storage industry with multiple engineering and management positions at high profile companies. 

Dr. Coughlin has many publications and six patents to his credit.  Tom is also the author of Digital Storage in Consumer Electronics:  The Essential Guide, which was published by Newnes Press. Coughlin Associates provides market and technology analysis as well as Data Storage Technical and Business Consulting services.  Tom publishes the Digital Storage Technology Newsletter, the Media and Entertainment Storage Report, the Emerging Non-Volatile Memory Report and other industry reports.  Tom is also a regular contributor on digital storage for Forbes.com and other blogs.

Tom is active with SMPTE, SNIA, the IEEE (he is Director for IEEE Region 6 and active in the Consumer Electronics Society) and other professional organizations.  Tom is the founder and organizer of the Annual Storage Visions Conference, a partner to the International Consumer Electronics Show, as well as the Creative Storage Conference. Experience in the mobile commerce arena started in  2011 at ROAM Data as VP of Enterprise Sales and member of the ROAM Wallet team which was later acquired by Ingenico. I then worked for the international payments gateway Adyen before taking the position of VP of National Retail Direct Sales for MagTek in the integrated POS hardware EMV / Contactless space. In 2015 I accepted the position of  Director of Merchant Programs for SamsungPay working with The fortune 250 retail in the US and globally as well as the creation and implementation of the Tier 2 ISO / Channel strategy for SamsungPay on a national basis. I have full understanding of the mobile payments ecosystem ,mCommerce technologies, PCI compliant and certified solutions as well as working knowledge of PA DSS POS applications, EMV, tokenization and mobile wallets.  




Katri Harra-Salonen, Chief Digital Officer

Katri Harra-Salonen has conducted a long career in digital transformation positions. Katri has managed several high performing teams and companies in the age of the internet both at home and abroad. With a solid background from management consulting she has combined business and digital throughout her career ranging from highly respected management consultancies to industry disruptors from the internet and design community. She has been part of major strategic customer projects within the industry as steering group member and strategic advisor.

At this moment Katri is Finnair Executive Board Member.




Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer

International service business & travel industry and logistics executive with 18 years of professional experience within airline commercial operations, business development, airport operations, cargo logistics operations, customer service management and outsourcing of service units, and the establishment of a low-cost fulfillment services subsidiary company. As CCO and Finnair Executive Board Member, Juha is responsible for Finnair Group Revenue and leading Commercial units for Global Sales, Brand Experience, Marketing, Customer Loyalty and Revenue Management.


Philip Lelyveld, VR/AR Initiative Program Manager
Entertainment Technology Center at USC

Philip Lelyveld runs the VR/AR Initiative at the Entertainment Technology Center at USC, a think tank within the USC School of Cinematic Arts. The Entertainment Technology Center at USC is funded by the six major Hollywood studios plus related service, technology, and CE companies to advise them on emerging technology-related opportunities, connect them with start-ups and communities of interest, help accelerate adoption of promising technologies, and work to avoid format wars. 

Phil also consults on emerging opportunities and product strategies for companies in the entertainment, consumer electronics, and related spaces.


Rich Salter, Chief Technical Officer
Lumexis Corporation 

 Rich Salter is co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of Lumexis Corporation, supplier of the next-generation Fiber To The Screen® (FTTS®) inflight entertainment system. He received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University and interned in its Avionics Engineering Center in the late 1970s. He has been co-founder and VP Engineering of Airshow (map displays), IFE consultant to airlines and suppliers, and co-founder and CTO of Lumexis. Rich has served on the Board of the Airline Passenger Experience (APEX) organization, APEX Technology Committee, Arinc Cabin Systems Subcommittee, and the FAA PED (portable electronic device) Aviation Rulemaking Committee (advised FAA on expanding use of PEDs onboard).




Joerg Schiffmann, Sales and Marketing
GUE Tech

At GUE Tech, Joerg Schiffmann is responsible for Sales & Marketing.

He graduated in Business Administration for Marketing at the Academy for Administration and Economy in Bochum, Germany.

 Joerg launched his career in Inflight Entertainment in Duisburg, Germany, working for Atlas Air Film + Media Service GmbH. As Managing Director and Chairman of the Inflight Division for the Advanced Inflight Alliance AG in Munich, he started consolidating the IFE market by acquiring several other Content Service Provider in the US, UK, Canada and India.  

 Joerg established a centralized content buying company for the IFE Alliance group and implemented its content purchasing strategy for their numerous airline clients.  With his 25 years of experience, he founded j.s.consulting in April 2013, specialized in services for IFE suppliers, airlines and airports.

Joerg lives in Oberhausen, Germany, and has a passion for skiing and riding his motorbike. 


Peter Skaves,  Chief Scientific & Technical Advisor
Advanced Avionics, Federal Aviation Administration

Peter Skaves was selected as the FAA Chief Scientific and Technical Advisor for Advanced Avionics on May 7, 2010. During his 24 year career with the FAA, Mr. Skaves supported and developed policy and guidance for various airplane programs including Future Air Navigation Systems (FANS), Required Navigation Performance (RNP), Flight Management Computer Systems (FMCS), Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), Electronic Flight Bags (EFB) and Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B).  He has also developed training material and provided tutorials (IEEE endorsed) for the certification of advanced avionics systems at various forums including the Digital Avionics System Conference (DASC). 

He has been a member of RTCA Special Committee (SC) 216 “Aeronautical Systems Security” since it was established on June 26, 2007. He has published several white papers on Aircraft Systems Information Security Protection (ASISP) and has presented this information at many avionics forums including the Integrated Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (ICNS) conference. He is a member of the Aviation Advisory Rulemaking Committee (ARAC) for ASISP. Mr. Skaves has received numerous achievement awards during his career.

Mr. Skaves earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
