APEX to Return to Asia for Conference Covering the Future of Connectivity, Aircraft Tracking, Regional Content Acquisition and More


(NEW YORK) – Cathay Pacific’s Toby Smith will kick off next month’s APEX Asia Conference with an in-depth local perspective of the airline industry in Asia, including its development and region-specific characteristics. At the Airline Passenger Experience Association’s (APEX) second solo event in Asia – 3-4 November in Hong Kong – the region-specific focus will continue as APEX presents its inaugural Passenger Insights Survey data as it relates to China, Japan and Singapore. Registration is now open.

Event attendees will have access to regional and international industry leaders and airline representatives for two days of educational programming, exhibits featuring the latest products, services and innovations, and invaluable networking opportunities.

Highly anticipated sessions include a moderated panel discussion covering content acquisition strategies specific to Asia, where the local content market is booming and becoming increasingly important for the airline industry. Another session will delve into the issue of tracking aircraft via surveillance satellites, real-time flight data streaming and more.

The event’s comprehensive agenda will cover the following topics, among others, with a regional focus:

  • Connectivity
  • WiFi streaming
  • Music licensing
  • e-Aircraft concepts
  • Aircraft design
  • Regional trends

“For this event, we’ve re-formatted the sessions so that case studies are front and center,” said Lauren Beneri, APEX director of programs and services. “Attendees will hear how legacy carriers, low-cost carriers and local airlines have responded to various challenges and the strategies they’ll implement in the future.”

APEX has earned a reputation for hosting riveting educational sessions and panel discussions, and Regional Conferences are consistently rated very highly among attendees. Planning is underway for multiple 2015 events, when APEX will travel to Abu Dhabi, Prague, Southern California and Portland.
