Fox CFO Dean Hallett to Give Keynote Address at APEX/IFSA EXPO, 9-12 September in Anaheim

(NEW YORK) – Seatback screens. Tablets. Smartphones. The rapid rate of change in inflight entertainment is forcing entertainment companies to adapt – or better yet, to lead the way. No one knows that better than Dean Hallett, CFO and executive vice president of operations and strategy at Fox Filmed Entertainment.

Hallett will be the keynote speaker for the APEX/IFSA EXPO, to be held 9-12 September in Anaheim, California USA. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn firsthand how Fox approaches changing IFE options and how the company leverages new technologies in production, marketing and distribution strategies.

“We’re thrilled to have Dean kick off what we know will be the most comprehensive and in-depth APEX educational sessions so far,” said Kevin Bremer, APEX board member and education committee chair.  “Dean brings a unique prospective and a depth of knowledge, having also served as executive vice president and CFO for The Walt Disney Studios. In his role at Fox, he has overseen key initiatives that are very relevant to our membership – such as digital and content management strategies and technology research and engineering.”

Hallett is a key member of the Fox executive team and is instrumental in shaping the overall strategy of the studio. Hallett provides strategic direction and operational guidance to all FFE divisions, including theatrical production, worldwide theatrical marketing and distribution, worldwide home entertainment, television distribution, digital exhibition and digital media.

His keynote address is slated for 09:00 on Monday 9 September, during the EXPO’s full day of educational programming. The morning sessions will also include speakers from Teague, Hilton and Recaro. The afternoon break-out sessions will be devoted to the passenger experience as a whole and will include the following speakers, among others: Ilia Kostov, EVP, global sales, GuestLogix for the “Content” track; Rich Salter, chief technology officer, Lumexis Corporation for the “Portable Electronic Devices” track; Ash ElDifrawi, EVP, chief commercial officer, Gogo for the “Technology” track; Patrick McEneany, associate director, creative consulting, BMW Group DesignworksUSA for the “Comfort & Ambience” track; and Jose Ceballos, program manager, U.S. Department of Agriculture APHIS for the “Services” track.

The APEX/IFSA EXPO brings together industry thought leaders and decision-makers, such as Hallett, under one roof for riveting educational programming, a newly expanded tradeshow floor and invaluable networking events. Registration for the event is now open.
